you remember how gutted you felt when your parents said they were "not angry, just disappointed" after you did something particularly stupid as a teen like come home trashed or dent the family car or both in combination?
well i was the parent when it came to the coffee experience at the fabulous edinburgh farmers markets last saturday.
there are two coffee sellers at the markets, one at each end of the strip of vendors.
trusty partner and i tried the unnamed joint at the end away from princes street.
if only the same level of passion for fine coffee was channelled into the cup as the stoats oats folk have for their porridge. or the same excellent produce used as is championed by the fish smokers, game pie makers and angus beef butchers.
but no. edinburgh food lovers have to put up with too hot, bitter and boring "coffee" that insults the palate amidst some of the best produce scotland has to offer.
surely one of the excellent coffee purveyors in this city can step up and show our food lovers what fine coffee is supposed to smell, look and taste like? come on, do it for your country!
