the list guide 'recommends' coffee!

in the cafe section (page 49) of this year's the list edinburgh & glasgow eating & drinking guide 2011/12 you'll find a half page dedicated to cafes 'recommended for coffee'.

listed are:
  • artisan roast - rates on this site as among the best
  • wellington - rates on this site as among the best
  • spark - was good but no longer open sadly
  • fruitmarket - should stick to what they do best which is art
  • scottish cafe and restaurant - yet to review but will add to my list, as it were
  • kilimanjaro - among the best
  • peter's yard - among the best
  • project coffee - among the best.
good to see some space in the list guide dedicated to fine coffee consumption. general chat throughout the cafe section also includes more attention to the quality of coffee than in previous years.

be even better, though, to see all cafes' reviews tied in part to their coffee quality as it pretty much defines what a cafe does! yes, i know that fine food of all types and the ambience is critical but the coffee is integral to any cafe experience.

edinburgh is definitely getting a more refined taste for coffee though which is very heartening, happy days. to those at the list keep going in this direction!
