eteaket

eteaket, 41 frederick street, is very much a passionate purveyor of tea - they want to "rekindle britain's passion for tea". they offer a huge choice of teas and, down a few steps from street level, it is a peaceful spot to rest and recharge with your preferred pot of cha. the food menu includes breakfast, cream tea (scones, jam & cream - yum), sandwiches, toasted ciabattas, salads and cakes.

eteaket's friendly staff also serve artisan roast coffee so we thought we should try it. being in the heart of the new town, just off george street, it is also a convenient option for many in an area with few choices for great coffee.

i had a flat white (the regular size) but it was still too big to drink it all. fortunately the strength and flavour were still good, just a bit too much of a good thing. it was strong and edgy without being bitter. layers of savoury nuttiness came through well. the temperature was great and the milk texture soft and rich.

loving the passion for tea. loving that they're also passionate about coffee!
