Birthday Cake!

This was the first birthday that I've spent with my family in 9 years. And it was completely implicit that my wonderful, beautiful grandmother would bake me my favorite cake in the world - her chocolate angelfood cake.

It was so so good.

And is so so sticking to my hips now. But it was all worth it.

This Is Idaho

Idaho.

Very Quiet.

Very Beautiful.

We Bought a House!

As of 10.00 am this morning, Herman and I became first time home owners! The whole process was surprisingly smooth (minus trying to get insured in Florida...after last summer), and quick. Even as we walked into the house today as the owners, it still felt so surreal.

It's a great late 1950's ranch in a "highly desirable neighborhood" (according to the appraiser) that needs a lot of love, but has great potential. Over the next couple of months we plan on putting a bit of work into it. Once this blog is up and running more, I hope to have a project page that will detail all the changes we make.

I feel so grown up.

A Night At Enzian

Enzian. This is how movies should be seen. Me, sitting on a plush purple couch, eating a delicious cheeseburger, drinking all the Coke I want, a great movie playing on the big screen.

Enzian hosted the Florida Film Festival, and Lina took me to see House of D. Written by, directed by, and starring David Duchovny.

The many lives of Dexter the Cat.

Cats can sometimes be very one dimensional.

Not so with Dexter. He almost has more personality than I have. He gets happy and sad. He knows what food he likes and doesn't like. He gets grouchy. He knows how to play hide and seek and tag. He can open doors from both sides. And he can fly.

What a cat.

Bloggers Block.

Yup. I'm finally jumping on the blog-wagon. Although...I actually jumped on a couple of months ago, fell asleep, and rolled off.

I definitely wonder if I'll have anything interesting to say on a regular basis. I guess this can sort of be an experiment of sorts.

We'll see what happens.
